About CPR Course

The Provide CPR (HLTAID009) course is a short, practical program that focuses on giving you the confidence to take action in a medical emergency. Whether for workplace compliance or personal peace of mind, this training ensures you can respond effectively to cardiac arrest and breathing emergencies for adults, children, and infants. Delivered face-to-face by experienced trainers, the course is highly interactive, with scenario-based practice that prepares you for real-life situations.

In this course, you will learn how to:

  • Recognise the signs of cardiac arrest.

  • Follow the DRSABCD action plan to manage emergencies.

  • Perform high-quality CPR on adults, children, and infants.

  • Place an unconscious but breathing person into the recovery position.

  • Communicate details effectively to emergency services.

  • Participate in post-incident debriefing and review.

By the end of the training, you’ll have the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to act quickly and provide life-saving assistance when it matters most.

Course Delivery & Duration

This CPR course is delivered face-to-face in a supportive, hands-on classroom environment. Training is led by experienced instructors and focuses on practical skills, with plenty of time to practise CPR techniques on manikins and use an AED in simulated scenarios.

The course runs for approximately 3 hours and is completed in a single session — no online pre-learning required. Assessment is competency-based, ensuring you leave not only certified but also confident in your ability to respond to a real-life emergency.

Certification is issued on the same day, allowing you to meet workplace compliance requirements immediately.

Certification & Accreditation

On successful completion of the training and assessment, you will receive a nationally recognised Statement of Attainment in HLTAID009 – Provide Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Your certificate is issued on the same day you finish the course, making it easy to stay compliant with workplace and industry requirements.

This qualification is valid for 12 months, in line with the Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) guidelines, which recommend CPR skills be renewed every year to ensure best practice and confidence in an emergency.

All training and assessment are delivered under the Standards for RTOs 2015, guaranteeing your certification meets national standards.

No formal academic prerequisites. However, you must meet the physical assessment requirements and provide a USI at enrolment.

A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a personal education number required for all nationally recognised VET training in Australia. You’ll need a USI to enrol and receive your certificate. It’s free and quick to create at usi.gov.au

Anyone who wants CPR skills for work, volunteering, or everyday life—first-timers and refreshers are welcome. The unit applies across community and workplace contexts.

Not at the moment. We’re focused on individual enrolments and public classes. (Group discounts and private sessions are not currently offered.)

Wear comfortable clothing suitable for kneeling on the floor. Bring photo ID and your USI; all training equipment is provided.
